Discovering covid vaccines

WHO was informed of a cluster of several cases of pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan City, Hubei a Province of China. Chinese authorities identified that the SARS-CoV-2 as the causative virus on 7th January 2020, and the disease was named  as Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) by WHO on 11th February 2020.
As part of WHO’s response to the outbreak, a Research and Development (R&D) Blueprint has been activated to accelerate the development of diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics for this great novel coronavirus.
Under WHO’s coordination, a group of experts with diverse backgrounds is working towards the development of vaccines against COVID-19.

The group makes a call to everyone to follow recommendations to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus and protect the health of individuals. The group also thanks everyone for putting their trust in the scientific community.

Declaration

We are scientists, physicians, funders and manufacturers who have come together as part of an international collaboration, coordinated by the World Health Organization (WHO), to help speed the availability of a vaccine against COVID-19.
While a vaccine for general use takes time to develop, a vaccine may ultimately be instrumental in controlling this worldwide pandemic.
In the interim, we applaud the implementation of community intervention measures that reduce spread of the virus and protect people, including vulnerable populations, and pledge to use the time gained by the widespread adoption of such
We believe these efforts will help reduce inefficiencies and duplication of effort, and we will work tenaciously to increase the likelihood that one or more safe and effective vaccines will soon be made available to all.

Covid 19 affects education here

EDUCATION AFFECTED DUE TO CORONA VIRUS CASES

Impact of the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic on education

Learners affected by school closures caused by COVID-19 as of 22 April 2020
  Country-wide school closures
  Localized school closures
  No school closures
  No data
The 2019-20 corona virus pandemic has affected educational systems worldwide, leading to the near-total closures of schools, universities and colleges.
As of 27 April 2020, approximately about 172 crores students (learners) are heavily affected as the schools have closed due to this pandemic all over the world we can say.
According to UNICEF monitoring, 186 countries are currently implementing nationwide closures we  have cone across a news that about 186 countries have implemented nationwide closures and implementation  of local closures are seen in 8 countries ,impacting about 98.5 percent of the world's student population.

On 23 March 2020, Cambridge International Examination  (CIE) released a statement announcing the cancellation of Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level, Cambridge International AS & A Level, Cambridge AICE Diploma, and Cambridge Pre-U examinations for the May/June 2020 series across all countries. International Baccalaureate  exams have also been cancelled.

Taken from a source.
School closures impact not only students, teachers, and families, but have far-reaching economic and societal consequences.

The impact in the case is so such sevwre that has disadvantaged children along with their families  which has caused interrupted  learning, childcare problem, compromised nutrition causing interrupted learning and such consequent economic cost to the families who are unable to work.
In response to school closures, UNESCO recommended the use distance learning programmes and open educational applications and platforms that schools and teachers can use to reach learners remotely and limit the disruption of education.

The COVID-19 pandemic is first and foremost a health crisis. Many countries have (rightly) decided to close schools, colleges and universities. The crisis crystallises the dilemma policymakers are facing between closing schools (reducing contact and saving lives) and keeping them open (allowing workers to work and maintaining the economy).

The severe short-term disruption is felt by many families around the world: home schooling is not only a massive shock to parents’ productivity, but also to children have face problem on their learning  session and their respective social lives.
Teaching is moving online, on the basis that students can get no exuses in education  system on an untested and unprecedented scale. Student assessments are also moving online, with a lot of trial and error and uncertainty for everyone.
